Artist Bio & StatementHello, I’m Beckett. I took a great interest in art because there isn’t a comparable way to express yourself. We’re all interested in art since it's everywhere. What art means to me personally is the concept of free demonstration. For someone to be called an artist in my mind means that they’ve created a physical demonstration that represents something that they want to convey. My favorite works aren’t in this showcase because they aren’t demonstrative of my ability but simply sentimental. They’re my favorite because they capture the essence of what I’m leaving behind and what I cherished about high school. I’m very proud of “WITHIN”. I’m attending The University Of Southern Maine whenever colleges open up. I feel that my participation in art in high school is crucial to who I am today. If I hadn’t taken any art courses I wouldn’t have such a strong sense of confidence or even a connection with the people who have helped me most. My goal in art was to accomplish self-fulfillment to a degree. For the AP I did an investigation into how I could convey indescribable emotions using portraits. It was the most engaging period of my photography. I’m grateful for all the commendations I have been awarded but my proudest moments in art have been my NAHS induction and participating in Project Hope.
