Artist Statement"I took visual and performing art classes as a way to express myself, gather skills, and balance out my academic work. My favorite material to work with is paper! I love experimenting with it, and creating interesting folds and shapes. I will be going to Maine College of Art in Portland! I am starting up my business Bits and Pieces by creating an Etsy shop! I love to create art, because it is a way to communicate without language barriers. Singing is a confidence boost for me, and helped me find my voice and use it proudly. With my AP focus, I wanted to show that we are all connected through folklore, by focusing on tales that have transformations from different cultures. I joined the Monomoy chorus in 8th grade! I participated in the shows Peter Pan, where I was Curly the lost boy, Our Town, where I was Wendy, Almost Maine where I was Sandrine and Marci, and in Catch Me If You Can and All Shook Up where I was an ensemble member. I received two Junior Book Awards, for English and Art, and was a member of NAHS."
